Job summary

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center in Clinton, IA is seeking a Unit Secretary/CNA for a full-time, 12-hour night shift. The role supports nursing staff by performing clerical tasks, assisting patients with daily living activities, and coordinating care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

You will transcribe orders, schedule tests, assemble charts, handle billing documentation, and answer calls. A CNA certification and BLS are required within 3 months, with a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• CNA certification verification from the State of Iowa.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a related field preferred.
• Ability to work under stress and manage diverse tasks.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes physician orders and enters orders into the computer.
• Schedules diagnostic tests and therapies.
• Assembles admission and discharge charts and maintains medical records.
• Completes documentation for billing and answers calls.
• Relays messages to appropriate staff.
