Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Unit Clerk for the Nights shift in Women’s Health CCU. The role involves direct patient care under RN supervision, plus clerical and unit-support tasks to maintain an optimal patient environment.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or G.E.D. certificate required.
• Current CNA certification required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians
• Prefer hospital experience

Responsibilities

• Knocks before entering rooms and addresses individuals courteously.
• Responds to inquiries promptly and courteously.
• Works in a spirit of teamwork and shares information.
• Performs clerical/clinical duties as assigned by the nurse or physician.
• Transcribes physicians' orders and maintains chart records.
• Answers phones and routes calls appropriately.
• Ensures patient equipment and supplies are available and functional.
• Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
• Assists with CNAs duties when the unit is short staffed.
