Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for full-time night shifts in the Women’s Health unit. Under supervision of a licensed RN, the CNA provides direct patient care, assists with activities of daily living, records vital signs, and helps maintain a clean, safe environment.

The ideal candidate has an accredited CNA or PCT program, current CNA/PCT and BLS/CPR credentials, strong communication and cultural sensitivity, and hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Certified Nurse Assistant or PCT program.
• Current CNA or Patient Care Tech certification required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate clearly with nursing, administration and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others.
• Maintains an organized, neat, well stocked resident/unit.
• Document observations clearly and timely using correct forms.
• Assist with admissions and orient families to the unit.
• Measure and report vital signs and patient data.
• Support nursing staff during acute or emergency situations.
• Provide safe, compassionate care and maintain patient comfort.
