Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 11:00pm-7:00am night shift. This non-exempt role emphasizes direct patient care, observation, and safe transport within a fast-paced hospital unit.

You will document vital signs, assist with glucose testing and EKGs, uphold infection control, and support the care team under supervision. A CPR certification and a high school diploma are required, with BLS if not current.

Qualifications

Must meet at least one of the following: one year of nursing assistant experience, completion of a nursing assistant training program, current nursing assistant certification (CNA), or MRMC nursing assistant training program.
CPR certification is required; if not current, CPR/BLS must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements.

Responsibilities

Provides constant observation for patients at risk for injury.
Obtains and reports vital signs, pulse oximetry, and non-invasive blood pressure.
Performs blood glucose testing and EKGs as indicated.
Provides safe patient transportation and reports changes in condition or behavior.
Records intake, output, height, weight and vitals in the EMR.
