Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for night shifts in the Surgical Stepdown department in Chicago. The role involves assisting patients with daily living activities and providing basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Requirements include a high school diploma, Illinois-certified CNA, and preferred phlebotomy and EKG certifications. BLS certification within 30 days and ongoing knowledge of medical terminology are essential, with acute care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CNA, Illinois approved Certification required.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
