Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Rehabilitation Unit at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. The role is a full-time, night-shift position (7pm to 7:30am) with every other weekend.

The 36-hour week focuses on patient care, charting in EMR, and collaboration with RNs to support daily patient needs. Responsibilities include assistance with activities of daily living, vitals, transfers, and basic post-procedure care while following infection control policies.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry.
• Basic computer skills and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding and ambulation.
• Record vital signs and input data into EMR.
• Support admission, transfer and discharge processes under RN supervision.
• Position patients and assist with transfers and mobility as directed.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as directed.
• Handle logistics like chart transport and stocking nursing areas.
• Maintain skin integrity, manage tubing and patient positioning as needed.
