Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support RN-led patient care during night shifts. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, document in the EMR, and help with admissions, discharges and routine unit tasks.

The role requires BLS within 45 days and an approved Nurse Aide credential. A GED or HS diploma is required, with benefits and career growth available within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days.
• Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry.
• Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) or High School Graduate.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care such as bathing, oral hygiene, feeding and ambulation.
• Measure and document vital signs, intake/output and daily weights in the EMR.
• Perform rounding under RN supervision and communicate patient/family observations to RN.
• Support admissions, transfers and discharges with room setup and patient belongings.
• Collect specimens and perform point-of-care testing as indicated.
• Stock nursing area, clean equipment and assist with lunch/diet tasks.
• Assist with patient positioning and mobility including use of assistive devices.
• Maintain skin integrity and ensure supplies such as TED hose are provided.
• May remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans as directed.
