Job summary

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Assistant II to support the RN with clinical tasks on the unit.

The PCA II contributes to patient safety, comfort, and family-centered care while performing routine patient care activities during night shifts. The role emphasizes collaboration with licensed nurses, adherence to infection control, and timely communication about patient conditions and alarms.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or nursing student with basics preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to perform basic math and recording duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 monitoring for patients at risk for injury.
• Assist with patient care tasks as delegated by RN.
• Record vitals, intake/output, and daily weights.
• Transport patients and belongings as needed.
• Maintain infection control and safety procedures.
• Communicate with RN and Nursing Supervisor to coordinate care.
