Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison is seeking a Regular full-time Nursing Assistant to support neuroscience trauma unit patients during night shifts. You will assist with various nursing care tasks, document patient data, and collaborate with the nursing team to ensure compassionate, safe care.

The role requires no prior experience and includes education equivalency for licensing, with state-specific CNA/BLS requirements. Night shift coverage and a 36-hour weekly schedule are provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receives patient care assignment from the registered nurse in charge and initiates delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence.
• Collects and documents data for admission assessments and reassessments for the patient population.
• Relays information via charting and communicates to team members.
• Informs licensed nurse of changes in patient condition or educational needs.
• Assists with baths, ambulating, feeding, hygiene, and bed making.
• Performs dressing changes, enemas, ostomy care, toileting, turning, and breathing exercises.
• Prepares patients for discharge and accompanies them upon dismissal.
