Job summary

Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide resident-centered nursing care during night shifts. The role supports daily living activities, respiration of care plans, and collaboration with RNs in a long-term care setting.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility assistance, vital signs, documentation, and helping maintain a safe, clean, and positive dining environment with a focus on infection prevention and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior long-term care experience preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or in process to obtain certification through endorsed program.
• Annual continuing education credits requirement (minimum 12 hours) and competency testing.
• Depending on state, may be registered with UAP Registry.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with driving policy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility; record vital signs.
• Assist with meals, hydration, and nutrition; ensure a positive dining experience.
• Support documentation of resident interactions, care outcomes, and changes in condition.
• Assist with transfers, repositioning, ROM exercises, and activity participation.
• Contribute to infection control, PPE use, and teamwork within the nursing staff.

Education
