Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Nursing Support Assistant (CNA) to assist in the 4NW Hospital Medicine unit at Hyde Park. You will provide essential patient care, monitor and document patient activity, and support the healthcare team under nurse supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Illinois HCWR CNA, CPR/BLS certification, and strong communication. Night shift, onsite, part-time 0.6 FTE, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• HCWR Illinois CNA or nursing student with competency exam.
• CPR/BLS Certification.
• Ability to read/write and follow instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care activities including vital signs and simple tests.
• Assist with activities of daily living and infection control.
• Support personal hygiene, ambulation, and nourishing fluids.
• Collect specimens and assist with transfers or discharges.
• Maintain patient environment and perform room preparations.
• Document activities in logs and records.
• Assist with receptionist duties as needed.
