Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy services, ensure safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution and control of medications, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.

This night shift/rotating weekends role requires strong clinical skills, attention to drug interactions, narcotics oversight, and effective communication with physicians to optimize patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or PharmD in Pharmacy from College of Pharmacy.
• Experience as a pharmacist in an acute-care hospital setting or general pharmacy practice residency preferred.
• Current FL Pharmacist license or license eligible.
• Eligible to sit for North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX).
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to meet patient needs.
• Provide clinical pharmacy support and execute programs for all patient areas.
• Review medication orders and ensure appropriateness of drugs, dosage, route and interactions; adjust dosage/schedule as appropriate.
• Ensure medications are dispensed safely to patients in accordance with age.
• Monitor narcotic transactions and reconcile narcotics leaving the pharmacy.
• Assist with physician consults and provide reliable drug information from sources.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
