Job summary

HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL seeks a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist to provide clinical pharmacy services ensuring safe procurement, preparation, labeling, distribution, and control of all medications for our patient population.

You will review orders, verify dosing and interactions, adjust regimens as needed, and ensure sterile IV admixtures comply with USP 797. Collaboration with care teams is essential to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• BS or PharmD degree in Pharmacy from College of Pharmacy.
• Current FL Pharmacist license or license eligible, Board Certified.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assist with development, implementation and maintenance of clinical pharmacy programs to ensure clinical services meet the requirements and needs of the patient population and community.
• Provide clinical pharmacy support and execute clinical pharmacy programs for all patient areas.
• Review medication orders and quality of technicians work to ensure appropriateness of drugs ordered, dosage, route and interactions. Adjust medications dosage/schedule as appropriate for patient condition as per policy.
• Ensure medications are safely dispensed to patients in accordance with age specific guidelines. You must follow appropriate procedures for the sterile preparation of IV admixtures in compliance with USP 797 standards.
