Job summary

Qualifications

• CA RN license required and in good standing.
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certificates must be current on hire and maintained.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing with 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.
• BSN degree preferred but not required.
• Violence in the Workplace training within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS certificate required within 90 days of hire and maintained.
• CCRN certificate preferred for ICU assignments.
• NRP required 90 days after hire and maintained.
• Professional certification within 2 years of hire is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities.
• Ensures compliance with current federal and state regulations.
• Oversees orientation and training of personnel in the department.
• Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration in writing and verbally.
• Leads staff during shifts to ensure quality of care and efficient operations.
• Performs direct patient care as needed within scope of practice.
• Assess and adjust plans of care as needed to maintain patient safety and outcomes.
