Job summary

Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license.
• BCLS (ARC or AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.
• ACLS (ARC or AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation certificate within 30 days from date of hire.
• Current NIHSS certificate required within 90 days from date of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Violence in the Workplace training within 90 days from date of hire.
• CCRN certificate preferred for Intensive Care
• NRP required 90 days after hire and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and collaborates with the unit Director/Manager.
• Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with regulations.
• Prepares, conducts and/or oversees department orientation and training of personnel.
• Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
• Responsible for the quality of staff and functions during the shift.
• Assists the Department Director in daily operations, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel.
• Perform direct patient care within scope of practice when needed.
• Continuously assess care and direct staff to adjust the plan of care.
