Job summary

Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV is seeking a Clinical Nurse II to coordinate and perform the nursing process on a designated shift. You will provide direct patient care within a customer service and quality improvement framework.

You will supervise staffing, assess unit workload, ensure policy compliance, educate staff, participate in PI/QI activities, and support budget goals while maintaining professional relations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department.
• Able to coordinate and participate in unit operations and quality improvement.
• Demonstrates competency through orientation and ongoing validation.

Responsibilities

• Perform the duties and responsibilities of a clinical nurse II and manage complex patients with minimal assistance.
• Staffing functions and scheduling adjustments based on census and acuity.
• Assess unit workload, staff qualifications, and authorize overtime as needed.
• Ensure policy and procedure compliance and provide feedback and support.
• Orient and educate new and current employees; encourage ongoing education.
• Perform performance management and disciplinary procedures as delegated.
