Job summary

Qualifications

• RN license required
• Associate's degree in nursing or higher
• 2 years nursing experience in the assigned area
• ACLS within 1 year of hire
• BLS within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Use nursing process to coordinate patient care on the assigned shift and unit.
• Perform staffing functions and adjust schedules based on census and acuity.
• Assess unit workload and staff qualifications; assign work and authorize overtime.
• Ensure policy and procedure compliance; provide feedback and assistance.
• Orient and educate new and current employees; encourage ongoing education.
• Complete performance management and disciplinary procedures as delegated by nurse manager.
• Maintain positive customer service and professional coworker relations.
• Assist nurse manager with budgeting and cost controls.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
