Qualifications

• Associates Degree Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology required
• Bachelor’s Degree Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Physical, Biological required
• 1 year MT, CLS, MLS experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate testing of specimens according to established protocol
• Reports test results in a timely manner
• Follows procedures for laboratory quality control and reports discrepancies
• Adheres to safety policies for handling blood and body fluids
• Performs high-complexity testing in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, immunology, immunohematology and molecular diagnostics
• Operates, calibrates, troubleshoots, and maintains laboratory instruments
• Validates test results and run controls
• Records and reports data into patient records and consults with physicians
• Manages inventory, organizes samples, and may train or supervise staff
• Completes required competencies successfully
