Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola, FL. The role involves handling specimens, performing routine and advanced lab procedures, and ensuring quality results in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological science or medical technology, MLS degree, or FL MT license. ASCP or AMT certifications preferred; sign-on bonus offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science, clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree.
• FL Medical Technologist (MT) license.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science / Clinical Laboratory Science / Medical Technology

MLS degree

FL Medical Technologist (MT) license
