Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant to join our team at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola, FL. In a high-volume production setting, you will receive and sort clinical lab specimens, prepare them for testing, input data, and help maintain equipment and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and may have 6 months of medical/lab experience. You should be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work flexible hours including nights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months or more of medical/lab or production experience.
• Comfortable handling biological specimens.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking.
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
