Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests, document QA/QC, operate and maintain equipment, and ensure safety under the Laboratory Medical Director. The position is Tue–Fri, 10pm–7:30am, in Madison, WI, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent training.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Demonstrated ability to perform Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
• Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred: additional coursework or experience in molecular biology.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques and principles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests according to SOPs.
• Document and review laboratory quality control procedures.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Prepare reagents for testing and ensure inventory.
• Identify and troubleshoot problems that affect test performance.
• Mentor new laboratory personnel as needed.
• Participate in testing and validation of new equipment and procedures.
• Maintain safety, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
