Job summary

Advocate Health University City Lab in Charlotte, NC seeks a Laboratory technologist to perform analysis on received specimens, contributing to diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. You will ensure quality, efficiency and safety across assigned technical duties in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree with MT/MLS eligibility and ASCP certification within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, MT/MLS or equivalent registry eligible.
• MT (ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) or equivalent required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow testing procedures and QA guidelines for equipment and area.
• Prepare reagents and manage materials to minimize waste/expense.
• Exercise clinical judgment to prioritize and troubleshoot test systems.
• Ensure documentation and procedures meet CAP, TJC, OSHA standards.
• Maintain clear shift-to-shift communication with leadership.
• Participate in staff meetings, task forces, or projects to implement changes.
• Contribute to the competency assessment program where qualified.
