Quest Diagnostics in Sacramento, CA is seeking a Clinical Lab Scientist I to join the Hematology department on a night shift schedule (Mon-Fri, 11:30 PM–8:00 AM) with rotational weekends. The role encompasses preparing and testing reagents, validating results, and ensuring accurate reporting in a fast-paced lab.
Required are a Bachelor's degree in medical technology or biological sciences and a California CLS license, plus 0–3 years of lab experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or biological sciences from an accredited college or university.
- Current California state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license to perform laboratory testing.
- Zero to three years' direct experience in a laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and tests new reagents or controls and evaluates their usefulness based on standard criteria.
- Determines the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria in testing procedures.
- Accurately enters results of testing and monitors reporting of laboratory results.
- Evaluates the acceptability of routine analysis prior to releasing patient reports and documents actions taken.
- Performs preventative maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and documents actions.
