Salinas Valley Health Medical Center's Laboratory department seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join night shift. The CLS performs complex analyses, ensures quality, and supports physicians in diagnosis and treatment by delivering accurate test results.

Experience of at least one year as CLS or trainee is required; California CLS license/ASCP is required, with BLS preferred. The role may involve supervising in the absence of a supervisor and work across multiple lab sections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent.
• California CLS license/ASCP required.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist or Trainee within the last five years.

Responsabilités

• Perform technical and complex laboratory analyses in one or more sections of the Laboratory.
• Recognize deviations from expected results, analyze problems, and modify procedures to eliminate technical problems.
• Serve as a resource person for other hospital staff by answering questions and solving problems for peers and others.
• May assume the responsibility of a Section Supervisor or Lead in their absence.
• Performs other laboratory duties as assigned.
• Assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing technical and complex laboratory tests, following established laboratory procedures.
• May work in multiple areas: Chemistry, Bench Chemistry, Blood Bank, Hematology, Histology, Microbiology, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, and Urinalysis.
• Performs quality control procedures and documents test results.
