Job summary

MLK Community Healthcare seeks a Clinical Laboratory Scientist for full-time night shifts. The CLS performs pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical testing, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of patient results.

Responsibilities include instrument maintenance, quality control, documentation, and effective communication with medical staff. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree, an active CA CLS license, and at least 1 year of clinical lab experience (internships allowed).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist license required.
• At least 1 year of clinical laboratory experience; internship considered.

Responsibilities

• Process samples and perform pre-analytical handling per SOPs.
• Conduct analytical and post-analytical testing with quality control.
• Maintain instrument uptime and routine maintenance; document activities.
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of results.
• Order labeling and manage supplies inventory.
• Maintain organized, clean work environment.
• Collaborate with medical staff to communicate results.
• Adhere to safety, regulatory and quality standards.
