Job summary
The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas in Belmont, NC invites a Part-Time Charge Nurse to join our mission-driven care team. You will lead a night-shift crew (7pm–7am, 12-hour shifts) every weekend, oversee CNAs/NA s/HHAs, and ensure the plan of care delivers high-quality, compassionate service to our Sisters.
Qualified candidates hold an active LPN license, BLS, and at least two years of nursing experience, preferably with geriatric or dementia care, plus supervisory capability and proficiency
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably geriatric/dementia care.
- Current LPN license and BLS certification required.
- Experience supervising or delegating care to others.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Responsibilities
- Implement the plan of care and supervise CNAs, NAs, and HHAs on duty.
- Provide person-centered care focused on wellness, comfort, and dignity.
- Administer medications and treatments per standards and policies.
- Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and condition changes.
- Coordinate with team for daily living activities and care tasks.
- Ensure safety, infection control, and end-of-life practices.
- Document accurately and communicate updates to Clinical Manager.
- Support staff orientation, training, and continuing education.
- Assist Sisters with appointments and enrichment activities.
