Job summary

The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas in Fremont, OH is seeking a Part-Time Charge Nurse to implement care plans and supervise CNAs, NAs, and HHAs. The role emphasizes leadership, clinical expertise, and compassionate care of Sisters.

You will administer medications, monitor vital signs, and coordinate with medical appointments while maintaining quality documentation and following safety protocols. Strong organizational and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with valid state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in nursing, preferably geriatric or dementia care.
• Experience supervising or delegating care to others.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care focused on wellness, comfort, and dignity.
• Administer medications and treatments according to professional nursing standards and policies.
• Monitor and document vital signs, intake/output, and condition changes.
• Supervise, delegate, and educate CNAs, NAs, and HHAs to ensure thorough and compassionate care.
• Assist Sisters with activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, grooming, ambulation, and meals.
• Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and end-of-life care practices.
• Coordinate and accompany Sisters to medical appointments and therapies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates to the Clinical Manager.
• Participate in staff orientation, training, and continuing education.
• Support Activities and Enrichment programming for Sisters.
