Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s Shady Grove Medical Center in Rockville, MD is seeking an experienced Certified Scrub Tech for our Operating Room. The role supports the surgical team by passing instruments, preparing the OR, and sterilizing supplies while ensuring safe, culturally aware patient care.

Qualifications

• High school or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program and certified.
• 1 year hospital Operating Room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) acceptable with 2 years of recent relevant experience in an acute care hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Surgical Team in providing a safe, appropriate, and culturally aware patient care
• Help surgeons during surgery by passing them instruments and other sterile supplies
• Prepare the Operation Room with all the necessary supplies
• Properly sterilize required instruments and supplies
• Serve as surgical assistant as needed
• Assist in order and restocking Operating Room supplies and instruments
