Job summary

Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS seeks a Certified Respiratory Therapist (RCP I) to perform respiratory therapies and diagnostic procedures per physician orders. The role focuses on assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of patient care tailored to age and condition.

Responsibilities include delivering inhalation and oxygen therapies, conducting tests, and managing ventilators. The position requires licenses and NBRC CRT certification with timely BLS/ACLS/PALS

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from NBRC required; hired before March 2026 exempt.
• BLS certification from AHA/ARC at hire and current.
• ACLS certification within 60 days of hire and current.
• PALS certification within 60 days of hire and current.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred; HS Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications.
• Conduct pulmonary function tests and ABG analysis.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and life-support equipment.
• Assist in airway management and resuscitation if needed in emergencies.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatment plans as patient condition changes.
• Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned, sterilized, and maintained.
