Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Team for night shift (Friday–Sunday, 12-hour shifts). The role includes sterile and non-sterile compounding, automation-assisted dispensing, and active involvement in inventory and billing processes.

Eligible technicians possess Ohio certification and active licensure, with a desire to advance professionally in sterile compounding.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
• Licensure/Certification: Approved Pharmacy Technician Certification with active Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration.
• Experience: Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• Communication: Effective communication skills.
• Aptitude: Aptitude in mathematical manipulations.
• Career development: Desire to elevate knowledge to the Certified Pharmacy Technician level.

Responsibilities

• Establish a working identity with the Pharmacy Team and contribute to culture.
• Perform sterile and non-sterile compounding following regulatory standards.
• Repackage bulk medications using Parata Systems and robotics.
• Dispense medications via Automated Dispensing Cabinets on patient care units.
• Assist in dispensing orders through the pharmacy inventory system.
• Support inventory control and proper lot rotation and expiration dating; escalate orders as needed.
• Assist in department billing for patients and other units.
