Tufts Medicine's MelroseWakefield Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Medical 5 Telemetry unit. This full-time role provides direct patient care under RN supervision, supporting basic nursing tasks, EKG duties, and patient safety on a high-acuity telemetry unit.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and 4 years of healthcare experience with CNA certification preferred. The unit emphasizes teamwork and professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Four (4) years of healthcare experience and nursing service experience or CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care for patients including hygiene, mobility, vital signs, and skin care.
• Documents procedures and patient information accurately.
• Obtains, labels and transports specimens as required.
• Completes point-of-care testing and EKGs.
• Documents I&O and weight as required.
• Assists with treatments, dressings and tests under RN supervision.
• Responds to call lights promptly using AIDET communication.
• Maintains infection control and safety procedures.
• Participates in hourly rounding and delivers compassionate patient care.
• Communicates patient status to RN and other team members.
