Job summary

Advocate Sherman Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Cardiac Care Unit. The schedule runs 7pm to 7am, with part-time hours and every third weekend and rotating holidays.

The 48-bed unit supports Level 2 Trauma and offers a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one. Responsibilities include assisting the RN with daily patient care, documenting vital signs and observations, and performing tasks to maintain patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant certification (Nurse Aide) in good standing per State Registry.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days of hire.
• GED or high school equivalency required.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with daily patient care including bathing, feeding, mobility and positioning.
• Record vital signs, intake/output, daily weights, and other data in EMR.
• Complete rounds, respond to call lights, and assist with admissions/discharges under RN supervision.
• Handle specimen collection and basic point-of-care testing as directed by protocol.
• Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and assist with patient transport and nutrition duties.
• Follow infection prevention policies and age-appropriate patient care guidelines.
