Job summary

CoxHealth is seeking a Night Shift Capacity Management Coordinator to optimize patient flow and bed placement across its health system. You will serve as the central point for transfers and work with nursing leadership, case management, and support departments to keep admissions and discharges moving smoothly.

Ideal candidates bring nursing or respiratory therapy credentials, strong communication, and proficiency with EMR systems and Excel.

Qualifications

• RN license active in Missouri; graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RRT credential with Missouri license; BLS within 90 days.
• LPN license active in Missouri.
• Experience in Emergency Services, Case Management, Pre-Hospital, Flight Nursing, or Transfer Center preferred.
• Proficient with Excel and EMR usage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient transfers and access across the health system.
• Match patients to facilities based on clinical needs and bed capacity.
• Coordinate admissions, ED transfers, inpatient transfers, and other movements.
• Facilitate communication among referring providers, accepting physicians, nursing leadership, and operations.
• Monitor bed availability, census, and capacity targets; assign beds by clinical need.
• Support overnight operations and escalation of capacity concerns as needed.
• Maintain documentation of transfers and patient flow activity.
