Job summary

Babson College is seeking a Utility Worker to relocate furniture and equipment across campus, support events, and provide custodial relief as needed. The role includes moving items, delivering supplies, and assisting with snow removal, floors, and carpet care.

A valid license and safety training are required, with strong teamwork and reliability essential. The position is Monday–Friday nights, involving driving, equipment operation, and collaboration with students and staff to maintain campus

Qualifications

• Must possess or obtain a 1C Hoisting operator's license; safety training required by management.
• Minimum of three years of custodial experience.
• Ability to follow written instructions and diagrams.
• Ability to function well in a team/community environment; interacts with students, teachers, coworkers, administrators and government officials.

Responsibilities

• Relocate furniture and equipment within and between campus locations.
• Support all event requirements and provide relief coverage for custodial schedules.
• Picks up trash and recyclables and transports to processing sites.
• Notify supervisor of equipment or vehicle repairs or replacements.
• Operate motor vehicles; operate forklift and Genie high lift.
• Assist other department members; coordinate moves and event support; participate in snow removal.
• Support offices and residence halls with furniture moves as needed.
• Perform project work (stripping floors, carpet shampooing, operating auto scrubbers).
• Deliver supplies to campus locations; assume additional responsibilities as needed.
