Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking a Custodian for the 3rd shift to support the Division of Facilities Planning & Management. The role includes cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, with occasional overtime and weekend hours. You will work under a supervisor to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming campus spaces.

The position offers full-time, 100% FTE with hours Sun–Thu 10:30pm–7:00am and possible overtime, holidays, and snow-removal support as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to shovel snow and ice outside in winter conditions.
• Availability to work overtime and weekend hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed.
• Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
• Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs.
• Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice.
• Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities.
