Job summary

TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a Blown Film Operator I for night shifts. You will set up and operate blown film extrusion lines, monitor material feeding, and perform quality checks to ensure film meets customer specs.

The role emphasizes safety, GMPs, and clean work practices on a 12-hour overnight schedule. You will inspect film dimensions with micrometers, adjust equipment as needed, and document production activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of blown film extrusion equipment preferred.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English.
• Experience operating production machinery in manufacturing.
• Able to use measuring instruments and identify defects.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate blown film extrusion lines to meet specifications.
• Install and change screens, adjust dies, and prepare scrap systems and winders.
• Monitor raw material feeding systems and maintain material usage records.
• Visually inspect film for defects and verify dimensions with measuring devices.
• Conduct quality checks on intermediate products (capacity, COF, gauge, width).
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow GMPs, PRPs and SOPs.
• Participate in startups, changeovers, and equipment setup activities.
• Follow sanitation procedures and report food safety violations.
