Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health RN for the Emergency Department Behavioral Health Suite in Farmingdale, Maine. This 24-hour-per-week position covers nights (7p–7a) and requires direct patient care for behavioral health patients using the nursing process in accordance with our standards and mission.

The role involves coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team, patient/family education, and potential precepting of students.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of acute care RN experience serving behavior health patients.
• Valid Maine RN license or ability to obtain promptly.
• BLS and MOAB preferred.
• Demonstrated flexibility, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, admissions, discharges and referrals.
• Provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Effectively delegate care needs to ancillary staff and potentially precept students.
