Job summary

MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick, ME seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on a 13‑week contract. The shift is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with 36 guaranteed hours per week and potential weekend requirements. The RN will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced ED setting.

Ideal candidates have ED experience, current BLS/ACLS/PALS, and CPI or MOAB certification before start. NIHSS is preferred; charge experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–5 years of nursing experience; ED experience preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and CPI (or MOAB) certifications required; CPI/MOAB before start.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Charge nurse experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide education and support to patients and families.
