Summit BHC is seeking a Behavioral Health Associate I for the night shift at Raleigh Oaks Behavioral Health in Garner, NC. This role works under the supervision of a licensed nurse and is part of a multidisciplinary team providing continuous patient care and supervision.

The position requires a high school diploma, preferred six months of related experience, and CPR/de-escalation training. The facility emphasizes safety, patient engagement, and timely charting as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or more experience with the population preferred.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and treatment modalities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides a safe, supportive, structured environment under supervision.
• Assists with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, meals).
• Performs safety checks and follows supervision guidelines.
• Checks patients for contraband and manages valuables.
• Interacts with patients, observes behaviors, reports to supervisor.
• Engages patients in activities to support treatment goals.
• Facilitates educational-rehabilitative groups on social and coping skills.
• Records vital signs accurately and communicates changes to the clinical team.
• Applies de-escalation techniques and assists with restraints when necessary.
• Assists with unit cleaning, admit/discharge tasks, and filing.
• Coordinates transportation and reports from shifts to oncoming staff.
