Job summary

RPM Industrial Coatings Group in Hudson, NC is seeking 3rd Shift Batch Makers with a shift differential and a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The role involves preparing intermediates and finished products by combining raw materials according to written formulas, following quality procedures, and compiling QC data.

You will monitor batch procedures, calibrate QC equipment, and maintain a clean work area. No prior experience required; manufacturing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Good math/measurement skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic reading and comprehension.
• Must achieve required color testing score.
• Reasoning ability to determine batch procedures.
• Work without continuous supervision.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and/or measure solvents, resins, pigments, and additives into blending tanks or mills per batch ticket.
• Tend mixing or grinding equipment and control time, heat, speed.
• Take product samples to QC Lab for checks.
• Check production batches against standards.
• Make adjustments to batches as needed.
• Recheck batches after adjustments until specs are met.
• Record results onto batch cards and in the computer system.
• Consult with Lab Chemist on products outside spec.
• Calibrate QC equipment as required.
• Maintain a neat, orderly work area.
