Job summary

Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. is hiring a Back End Mechanic for the Nichols, NY facility. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining high-speed production equipment on a 12-hour night shift.

Candidate must read blueprints and schematics, perform preventative maintenance, and improve operating procedures. Preferred are an associates/technical degree or journeyman certification, and 5+ years of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably high-speed operations.
• Associates/technical degree or vocational certification preferred.
• Strong experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment rebuilds.
• Experience reading mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and part specs.
• Proficient with micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools.
• Solid math and computer skills; ability to analyze data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain high-speed production equipment.
• Operate equipment and identify spoilage areas, taking corrective actions.
• Develop standard operating procedures and provide operator training.
• Uphold safety procedures and contribute to a culture of Total Safety.
