Job summary

Abbott’s Columbus, Ohio plant (Nutrition) seeks a lab analyst to perform analytical testing for in-process and finished products, including HPLC, GC, and ICP analyses. You will handle ingredient analyses, moisture and titration tests, ensure quality and compliance, and support documentation and housekeeping tasks.

The role requires 3+ years in a lab, knowledge of regulatory standards for infant formula, and the ability to train new hires on lab methods during a 3rd shift (11p-7am, Tue-Sun).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus 1 year of college science studies and 1 year of college mathematics.
• 3+ years of experience in a lab.
• Knowledge of analytical lab instrumentation HPLC, GC, ICP, general titration methods, pH testing.
• Basic knowledge of applicable regulatory standards for infant formula and nutritionals.
• Ability to follow instructions, prepare simple reports, read gauge/display readings, and apply chemistry knowledge with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing for in-process and finished product using HPLC and other analytical methods.
• Conduct ingredient analysis including titrations, moisture testing, organoleptic testing, sediment testing, and peroxide.
• Maintain documentation and housekeeping responsibilities; ensure compliance with procedures.
• Assist in CAPA/RCA investigations and plant safety measures.
• Train and mentor new hires on lab methods and shift operations.
