Major Tool & Machine, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Assembly Technician for the 3rd shift. The role requires reading drawings, layout, fabrication, and assembly of ablative material with a 4/10 schedule, 15% shift premium, and a $23.00 to $29.00 hourly wage.

Candidates should have carpentry or skilled fabrication experience, high school diploma or GED, and computer literacy. Forklift/crane certification and PPE readiness are part of the job requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Computer literacy required.
• Experience in skilled construction or carpentry preferred.
• Must pass baseline respiratory testing and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a production assembly environment per training instructions.
• Cross-train on different stations for flexibility and productivity.
• Read drawings and perform layout, fabrication and assembly steps.
• Properly use table saw, router table, and handheld grinders.
• Perform cutting, grinding and fitting tasks with proper methods.
• Perform basic shop math to ensure correct measurements.
• Apply bonding agent to metal parts.
• Visually and tactually inspect surfaces for finish requirements.
• Record dimension measurements in IDC and maintain 6S standards.
• Communicate with coworkers and supervisor to receive instructions.
• Complete duties per SOPs and WI and keep work area clean.
