Job summary

Flex-N-Gate is seeking a dependable Assembly Operator for the 3rd shift to assemble automotive bumpers and components following work instructions and quality standards. The Assembly Operator will perform washing, retrieval of materials, installation of components, inspection of parts, and movement of bumpers through the line.

This role rotates across assembly cells to promote safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks while maintaining production and quality standards.

• Willingness to rotate between assembly positions as assigned.
• Ability to work required overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Wash bumpers on tables, stands, and floor racks as required.
• Retrieve bumpers from racks ranging from floor level to 6 feet high and transport them to assembly stations.
• Retrieve attachments and components from racks and shelving, including materials stored up to 74 inches high.
• Retrieve boxes of small components such as nuts and bolts from shelves; boxes may weigh up to 40 pounds.
• Assemble bumpers by attaching nuts, brackets, lights, wiring, and plastic components according to work instructions.
• Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements and use fine motor skills to manipulate nuts, washers, clips, and other components.
• Use a 12-pound nut runner at approximately 4-foot height to fasten nuts and use a rubber mallet to install bumper attachments.
• Operate two-handed manipulators and hoists, when assigned, to assist with lifting and placing assembled bumpers into floor racks.
• Manually lift, carry, and place bumper parts weighing approximately 6.7 to 63.5 pounds
• Move bumpers and parts between assembly stations as they progress through the production process, individually or with another employee when required
• Push and pull racks of bumpers using up to 25 pounds of force
• Follow all safety, quality, production, and work instruction requirements
• Meet established production standards, with a target rate of approximately 500 bumpers per 8-hour shift
• Rotate between assembly positions, generally up to every 2 hours, as assigned
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Additional duties as assigned
