Job summary

ShipBob is seeking an Area Manager to lead a large warehouse team in our North Aurora fulfillment center, driving performance and engagement while ensuring safety and alignment with our culture. You will mentor leads and associates, manage workloads, and partner across departments to optimize labor and processes.

Responsibilities include coaching, KPI reporting, timecard oversight, and fostering a positive onsite environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of people management and operational leadership experience in a high-volume 3PL fulfillment environment.
• Experience in ecommerce, retail, and manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to manage performance, deliver feedback, train and develop talent.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerBI and TMS systems.
• Strong analytical skills and experience tracking KPIs.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Manage, build, and develop a team of 30+ warehouse associates (Temp and FTE).
• Review weekly work forecasts and identify productivity requirements to meet building objectives.
• Partner with other Area Managers to balance labor for efficient shift operations.
• Own operational metric reporting (VCPO, UPH, OPH, on-time receiving/shipping, SLA, Injury Rate).
• Provide coaching, assign tasks, and motivate team to meet goals.
• Develop Lead talent with tools, training, and resources.
• Foster employee engagement onsite through events and programs.
• Review and approve associate timecards daily.
• Serve as contact for escalated issues and mitigate risk quickly.
• Support safety programs and OSHA compliance.
• Supervise daily workflows ensuring safe handling and storage of products.
