Job summary

TRDI in Del Rio, TX is hiring a Tractor Operator for a full‑time night schedule (Monday–Friday, 11:30 pm–8:30 am). The role involves attaching and operating tractors with batwing shredders, performing routine maintenance, and applying basic repairs to keep equipment safe and productive.

You will maintain grounds for industrial and public sites, trim hedges, mow lawns, plant trees and shrubs, and comply with OPSEC, GFP, EM 385‑1‑1 and regulatory safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED.
• 1 year relevant work experience operating industrial grade tractors and batwing shredders within a commercial grounds‑keeping environment.
• Ability to organize effectively, delegate responsibility, solve problems quickly and communicate clearly.
• Ability to manage time effectively and handle both internal and external conflicts.
• Must maintain certification to operate an airfield vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property such as buildings, roadsides, airfields, and athletic fields.
• Perform minor equipment repairs, such as cutting grass using batwing mowers (more than 2000 lbs.).
• Fasten attachments to tractor, adjust equipment, lubricate, and make minor repairs.
• Operate industrial grade tractors with batwing shredder attachment within airfield area.
• Use hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools, prune shrubs and trees, spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
• Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs; water lawn and shrubs; dispose of leaves and litter.
• Use a string trimmer and backpack blower.
• Pass and maintain any required security clearance and comply with Drug‑Free Workplace policy.
