Qualifications

• 2-3 years of registration or comparable work experience.
• Able to communicate effectively with physicians, health team members, patients and families.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patient, collects demographic and financial info.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and performs pre-certification/authorization.
• Calculates and collects patient portion at time of service.
• Provides bedside registration in ED when needed and ensures EMTALA compliance.
• Documents in registration system and coordinates with departments for timely handoffs.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines and facility policies.
