Job summary

AdventHealth in Hinsdale, IL is seeking a Security Officer for the third shift at 9:45pm–6:15am. This full-time role at 120 N Oak St involves monitoring access, responding to alarms, and providing initial first aid while upholding hospital policies and safety procedures.

You will screen visitors after hours, document incidents, de-escalate conflicts, and support emergency operations. A High School diploma and a valid driver's license are required; 40-hour security training and Hazmat are

Qualifications

• Computer literacy with basic hospital/security applications.

• Knowledge of Access Control and CCTV systems — preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs security tasks as directed by Supervisor and reports unusual activities.
• Responds to alarms, identifies source, and assists as needed.
• Maintains equipment including radios; complies with laws and policies.
• Provides initial direction in emergencies, performs lockdowns, screens after hours.
• Documents crimes, incidents, and safety irregularities per policy.
• Gathers incident information and completes required forms.
• Intercedes in disputes using de-escalation techniques; manages aggression.
• Administers initial first aid as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
