Job summary

Highgate Hotels in downtown Miami is seeking a Safety & Security Officer to maintain a visible security presence and conduct regular patrols, upholding the hotel’s safety standards for guests and staff.

The role requires quick incident response, monitoring cameras and access controls, and delivering discreet, service-focused communication while protecting confidentiality and brand policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel/security experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs and respond quickly during shifts.
• Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to confidentiality and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional security presence throughout the property and monitor lobby activity.
• Conduct regular property patrols to ensure security and safety.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and provide First Aid/CPR when required.
• Assist guests with room access and escorts while addressing safety concerns.
• Monitor security systems and control access for authorized personnel.
• Investigate incidents and complete accurate reports.
• Collaborate with Guest Services and external agencies as needed.
• Manage security equipment inventory and documentation.
