Job summary

Decko Products LLC is seeking a Sanitation Technician for its Sandusky, OH facility. The role supports two buildings, focusing on clean and safe startup of production lines, including allergen controls and gluten-free considerations.

You will clean, inspect, and sanitize equipment and rooms, follow specified procedures, and maintain accurate sanitation records. A strong emphasis is placed on attention to detail and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

• Six months or more sanitation/production/cleaning experience in a regulated plant.
• Able to read and follow written English procedures and labels.
• Reliable attendance to ensure lines start on time.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Comfortable handling cleaning chemicals and hot water; can disassemble/reassemble equipment with basic tools.
• Able to work solo and in a small crew.
• Experience with allergen cleaning, lockout/tagout, chemical titration or ATP swabbing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize equipment and lines following written procedures.
• Follow the cleaning sequence (dry clean, pre-rinse, wash, rinse, sanitize).
• Dry-clean dry blend and mix rooms while keeping water away from dry areas.
• Disassemble equipment for cleaning and reassemble complete with all parts.
• Inspect equipment for wear or damage and report issues.
• Perform allergen and gluten-free changeovers per full procedure.
• Mix chemicals to proper strength and verify with test strips or titration.
• Clean floors, drains, walls, overheads and wash-up areas per schedule.
• Inspect own work and re-clean if needed.
• Document sanitation records accurately.
• Lock out equipment and wear appropriate PPE; follow GMPs.
• Report leaks or pests to supervisor.
